Friday morning. What a way to wake up. After days of amazing weather with a scorching sun and clear skys we were 'treated' to a night of thunderstorms and torrential rain.
We didn't get much sleep due to the noise and lightning However the situation was made it worse by the fire alarm going of at 7.30.
I went to investigate. I didn't find a fire just a new water feature in the halllway/stairwell. The rain was pouring like a river through the roof. The water had filled the smoke alarms, lights and now our morning.
Jenny and I spent the next hour mopping the floor and placing buckets and pans in strategic locations.
Due to water damage we were without electricity for five hours. it came back on yesterday afternoon.
At least we are okay and all our belongings in the loft apartment are okay. Today, the rest of the building is drying out nicely.
