Holly Bakehorn
Born and raised in Indiana, Holly Bakehorn's love of music was instilled in her at an early age. She grew up listening to and emulating great artists like Patsy Cline and Cass Elliot of The Mamas &The Papas. It was obvious early on that this young girl had a big voice and was developing it for a career in music. After graduating from college, Holly reaffirmed her talent by her many successes in the local and national vocal competitions she entered. In 2000, she signed with an Independent label in Nashville, TN. Although the small label was not able to continue due to financial constraints, she found it to be a wonderful opportunity. Holly has been featured on two of Central Indiana’s leading country radio stations, WWKI and WCJC. In 2002, she received thousands of listener votes for WWKI’s on-air competition Indiana Idol where she was awarded 1st runner up. Holly has also performed in Nashville, TN at The Gibson Showcase and The Trap as part of The Nashville Country Show in 2003. During these performances she was able to sing with world-class musicians who have played for Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, George Jones, Exile, Dolly Parton and George Strait. In June 2004, Holly was chosen by WKDF radio as 1 of 32 finalists from hundreds of entries for The Colgate Country Music Showdown in Nashville. She again performed at The Trap and received much praise from the radio station and the judges. In May 2005, Holly was once again selected by WKDF radio to perform in The Colgate Country Music Showdown. This time, she was one of only 10 singers chosen and again received much praise for her vocal ability. In summer 2007 Holly joined some of her country singer/songwriters friends on The Back Roads Tour. They performed in Tennessee, Indiana and Missouri. Holly's music is currently being played on radio and internet stations across the country and internationally. As Holly continues to develop her talent, she only grows more comfortable on stage and more at home with her audience. She is currently recording her first album (due out spring 2008) and honing her songwriting skills, thus, showing her all around talent. Given the opportunity to perform nationwide, Holly can showcase her ability as a rising star in country music.
Memarie
Memarie (pronounced Memory) is a Louisiana born epitome of Southern charm and grace – yet don’t be fooled. This artist can definitely rock with the best of them and proves it in her live show. Memarie has opened for acts like Trace Adkins, Tracy Lawrence, Jason Aldean, Sawyer Brown, Rodney Adkins, Josh Turner, Billy Ray Cyrus and more. Memarie’s writing credits include two songs cut by Ken Mellons and a co-write performed by John Anderson, George Jones, and Ken Mellons. In addition, MTV “Made” recently featured a Memarie-written song called “I Know You By Heart”. Memarie has released two albums with radio chart success accompanying both. She is currently writing and recording new music that really sets the stage for where she is in her musical journey. Memarie’s unique quality shines by mixing her Cajun roots with her country yet soulful voice. “I feel so blessed for my accomplishments so far but I have many more goals and achievements to reach.”
The Atkinsons
The Atkinsons are a rockin' americana band from Richmond, VA. Formed in the fall of 2003, their main focus was to write and perform their own brand of original music, as well as incorporate select cover songs that complement their roots rock style. Rooted in rock, touched by country, and rich in harmonies, The Atkinsons merge their signature sound with bittersweet tales of woe and heartbreak. Their originals are written with a hardcore honesty that chronicles America's lost and lonely souls and their life struggles and turmoil. Influences range from Whiskeytown, Old 97s and Son Volt - to Old Crow Medicine Show, The Avett Brothers and Scott Miller - to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, The Rolling Stones and Nirvana. The Atkinsons have released their debut CD entitled "American Gothic" and have received many great reviews. American Gothic is more than just an eleven-song compilation. It actually tells a story from start to finish. The first track introduces you to our nameless tragic hero. Throughout the CD you see him grow from a little boy to adulthood. And through a series of bad decisions and bad luck streaks, we eventually come to his death by the end of the CD. Although the lyrical content is dark, the music and melodies are upbeat. From country swing to straight-up rock, the mandolin and fiddle soaked songs keep your fingers snapping and toes tapping. The Atkinsons are: Dickie Wood - lead vocals, guitar Jeff Williams - mandolin, guitar, vocals Jamie Wood - harmony vocals, percussion Ricky Breland - bass Mike Ferry - fiddle Kris Krull - drums, harmony vocals www.theatkinsons.us www.myspace.com/theatkinsons

Fresh tunes with North State roots
 Shasta County Country
Cottonwood singer-songwriter Erin Friedman has been playing with words, music and the truth for more than twenty years, hanging out on the corner where traditional country meets modern folk. Erin teams with her husband, bass player and vocalist, Craig Friedman, to form the duo Still Married. Their engaging tunes focus on the colorful landscape and characters of Shasta County, love, life and the messy things that make it all interesting. After twenty years of marriage, the couple shares an intuitive understanding, evident in their vocal blends, gentle rhythms and heartfelt harmonies.
Still Married uses acoustic guitar, electric and acoustic bass, expressive vocals and a dose of humor to weave their song stories. Whether they are extolling the virtues of enduring love or lamenting the demise of an unfortunate possum, their poetic lyrics and austere arrangements revive the tradition of "songwriter as storyteller." Both of their all-original CDs: A Kiss Beneath the Sundial Bridge and The Shadow of Shasta are available in Redding at Wrap-N-Pack and on the Internet at www.cdbaby.com.
Still Married has performed their original tunes at Redding's Old City Hall, The Shasta District Fair, Little Filly's, Vintner's Cellar and other venues.
